Agilex NAVIS KIT

The Agilex NAVIS Autonomous Navigation System is a professional, full-stack solution designed by AgileX Robotics to enable centimeter-level autonomous navigation for industrial robots and AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) in semi-enclosed and fully enclosed environments, including potential indoor/outdoor fusion scenarios.

It is an advanced software and hardware integrated system that provides robust and reliable robot operations for various applications like security inspection, industrial automation, logistics, and transport.

The NAVIS system offers a comprehensive suite of features focused on precision, flexibility, and ease of integration:3

  • Advanced Environmental Perception: It utilizes a fusion of multiple sensors—typically LiDAR, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), and depth cameras—to construct an accurate 3D map of the environment, enabling precise scene reconstruction and environmental awareness.4
  • High Precision Navigation: Achieves high accuracy with a positioning accuracy of 5$\pm 3$ cm (or sometimes 6$\pm 8$ cm depending on the version/setup) and supports a large mapping area (up to 2 million square meters).7 It uses proprietary LiDAR-IMU sensor fusion and supports RTK-GPS assisted positioning for outdoor scenarios.8
  • Dynamic Path Planning: Enables real-time path planning and adjustment, advanced obstacle detection and avoidance, and intelligent decision-making algorithms for flexible execution of action plans in dynamic settings.9
  • User-Friendly Interface (NAVIS Board): Features an intuitive 3D navigation interface and a customizable data dashboard for real-time insights and on-the-fly analysis on desktop or mobile devices.10 It allows for one-click mapping and real-time map editing.11

System Components (NAVIS Architecture)

The NAVIS system is composed of several core components that work together to provide autonomous functionality:15

  1. NAVIS Brain (Navigation Brain): The core intelligence responsible for processing sensor data, mapping, path planning, and autonomous decision-making.
  2. NAVIS Bridge (Data Bridge): Manages the data flow between the sensors, the brain, and the control system.
  3. NAVIS Board (Intelligent Interaction System): The multi-platform user interface that provides data visualization, map management, task system management, and allows for remote monitoring and control.
  4. Integrated Sensing Hardware: The physical sensors (LiDAR, IMU, cameras) embedded on the mobile platform for perception and safety.
