The U5’s standout feature is its stabilized 3-axis gimbal, which houses:

• Thermal Imaging Sensor: A 640×512 high-resolution thermal camera for detecting heat signatures, gas leaks, or overheating equipment. It supports a wide temperature range from -20°C to +550°C.

• HD Visual Camera: 1080P high-definition video transmission with ultra-low latency (~180ms), providing crystal-clear situational awareness for remote operators.

2. Superior Navigation & Mobility

• 4D LIDAR L1: Features Unitree’s self-developed 360°×90° hemispherical LIDAR, offering a 200% improvement in recognition over previous models and a minimum detection distance of just 0.05m.

• Terrain Adaptability: Thanks to AI-driven motion control, the U5 can navigate stairs, gravel, and slopes up to 40°, reaching speeds of 3.7 m/s to 5 m/s.

• ISS 2.0 (Intelligent Side-Follow): Upgraded positioning technology that allows the robot to follow personnel more accurately while maintaining a safe distance and avoiding obstacles.

3. Industrial-Grade Communication

• Dual-Link Backup: Uses a primary 5.8G link for high-speed data and a 4G/eSIM backup to ensure connectivity in remote or obstructed environments.

• Remote Control with Screen: Comes standard with a professional handheld controller featuring an integrated display for real-time video feeds and telemetry.
