Ouster has revolutionized the lidar industry by moving away from “analog” architectures (hundreds of discrete components) to a Lidar digital approach. By integrating the laser emitters and detectors onto two high-performance silicon chips, Ouster sensors are smaller, lighter, and more durable than traditional spinning lidars.
As of 2026, the portfolio is divided into the OS Series (scanning lidar) and the DF Series (solid-state flash lidar), supported by the Gemini y BlueCity perception software suites.
1. The OS Series (Scanning Digital Lidar)
The OS series consists of high-resolution, rotating sensors that provide a 360º horizontal field of view. These are powered by the latest Chip L3 (Rev7), which offers double the range and 10x photon sensitivity compared to previous generations.
OS0: Ultra-Wide Short-Range
Ideal para: Indoor robotics, warehouse automation, and “cocoon” coverage for autonomous vehicles.
Key Spec: 90º Vertical Field of View (FoV).
Actuación: Can see from floor to ceiling in narrow warehouse aisles.
OS1: Mid-Range Versatility
Ideal para: Mapping, industrial automation, and medium-speed autonomous shuttles.
Key Spec: 45º Vertical FoV.
Actuación: The industry “workhorse” balancing range and resolution.
OS2: Long-Range Performance
Ideal para: High-speed trucking, highway ADAS, and high-altitude drone mapping.
Key Spec: 22,5º Vertical FoV with a maximum range of 400m.
Actuación: High-density point clouds at extreme distances for early obstacle detection.
OSDome: Hemispherical Coverage
Ideal para: Security, crowd analytics, and floor-to-ceiling warehouse monitoring.
Key Spec: 180º Vertical FoV.
Actuación: Eliminates blind spots directly above or below the sensor.

3. The DF Series (Digital Flash - Solid State)
El DF (Digital Flash) series represents Ouster’s move into “true” solid-state lidar with zero moving parts. Designed for high-volume automotive integration, these sensors are meant to be hidden behind windshields or integrated into vehicle bodywork.
DF0: Short-range “cocoon” sensor for parking and blind-spot detection.
DF1: Mid-range sensor for urban autonomous driving.
DF2: Long-range forward-facing sensor for highway speeds.
4. Perception Software
Hardware is only half the battle. Ouster’s software converts raw point clouds into actionable data:
Ouster Gemini: A “Physical AI” platform that detects, classifies, and tracks objects (people, vehicles, bikes) in real-time. It supports “sensor meshing,” allowing multiple lidars to act as one single “digital twin” of a facility.
Ouster BlueCity: A turnkey solution specifically for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). It monitors intersections to provide traffic actuation, near-miss detection, and pedestrian safety analytics.
